HTBasic Runtime Licenses for Windows and DOS


The DOS and Windows Runtime versions provide a low-cost method for executing HTBasic programs. They are intended for use by Value Added Resellers and End Users for running their already developed programs.


The Runtime version is especially cost effective for multiple unit installations of HTBasic found in production line and factory environments.


The Runtime version licenses do not include manuals, technical support or the LIF diskette transfer utilities. These are only included with Full version licenses.


Tech Soft even provides older ("Legacy") Runtime versions using a LPT dongle (H386, H386/E, HWIN, HWIN/E) for DOS and Windows.



Runtime Limitations

No program development capabilities exist in the runtime license. The following limitations exist:


1. The following commands have been removed:

    CAT (PROG files)  GET   SAVE   TRACE   CHANGE   HELP   RE-SAVE   XREF   COPYLINES

    INDENT   SECURE   EDIT   LIST   STORE   FIND   MOVELINES   RE-STORE


2. If you run these commands "Error 810" will occur and the program stops.

 

3. No licenses fo LIF utilities are included (HPCAT, HPCOPY, and HPPURGE shipped with the development version only).

 

4. Upon the detection of an untrapped error, control returns to the HTBasic command line. The error number but not the

    error message text string is displayed on the error message line.

 

5. All pre-defined softkey macros have been removed. The program must define any softkey macros that it wants to

    use with the SET KEY statement.



Demonstration Versions

HTBasic Runtime demonstration versions are available in the download section. They run for 60 minutes and then return control to DOS. They may be used to create demonstration versions of application software.
