TAMS 1887A USB Switch Controller

RF and Microwave switches, like the Agilent Technologies 1810 series, are used in a wide variety of signal routing applications for test & measurement, manufacturing and R&D.  Controlling these switches typically requires a custom circuit and programming as well as tedious cable fabrication.

Now with TAMS' new 1887A USB Switch Controller, you can easily control up to 12 coaxial switches from a Windows PC or through user written programs.

The internally powered, 1U rack-mountable controller supports readback of the switch position and automatically senses the switch drive method, whether TTL or standard coil drive.  It may also be wired to control virtually any other 5 or 24 volt electro-mechanical switch.

Customizable, Programable and Expandable

The ability to save switch positions as configuration files makes the 1887A USB Switch Controller an excellent prototyping tool. The intuitive graphical user interface allows switches to be custom labeled and color coded allowing you to focus more on the device under test rather than deciphering switch positions.  Custom configuration files may be saved as ASCII.xml files, and when reloaded, the switch positions reset automatically.  This enables rapid, repeatable testing by multiple users without wasting time reconfiguring the matrix.  Multiple switch controllers may be used in your system via automatic USB identification and the online programming examples for C, VB, LabView and VEE help get you started quickly.

Control connections are simple and solder free through standard 9-pin Dsub cables and the Full Speed USB 2.0 PlugandPlay interface.
