The Ines GPIB-USB-2 is a true USB 2.0 adapter in a miniature full metal
housing.
It is compliant to the IEEE-488.1 and IEEE-488.2 standards
and can be
used under Windows 2000, Windows XP and Linux.
Features
- For Windows XP / 2000 and Linux (2.4 & 2.6 kernel)
- Complete Talker/Listener/Controller capability
- With HTBasic, provides full compatibility with HP 9000 series
200/300 workstations
- Industry standard GPIB-32.DLL, works with HTBasic,
HP BASIC for Windows, C/C++, Testpoint, LabView, LabWindows, Diadem, Visual Basic and many other applications -
Supports Device Mode (besides many other GPIB/USB interfaces)
- Fits in any PCI slot
Compatibility
The Ines GPIB-PCI-XL interface is fully compatible with the HPIB interface
found on Hewlett Packards 9000 Series 200/300 Workstations when using under HTBasic
(Windows version). The GPIB-USB-2's very compact full metal housing has the
same size as a standard GPIB connector, thus eleminating the space problems of
traditional GPIB-to-USB adapters when used for equipment with narrow port
openings.
Standard IEEE-488 cables
are used to connect the controller card to instruments and devices. Cable ordering
information is included below.
IEEE-488 (GPIB) Compatibility
The General Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB) is defined by ANSI/IEEE Standards
488 1978 & 488.2-1987. The GPIB bus was developed to connect and control
programmable instruments, and to provide a standard interface for
communication between instruments from different sources.
The GPIB interface consists of 16 signal lines and 8 ground lines. The 16
signal lines are divided into 3 groups: 8 data lines, 3 handshake lines, and
5 interface management lines.
